Tobe Nwigwe Tells Us Why He Almost Passed on His ‘Transformers’ Role

During an exclusive interview with Kulture With K, Rapper Tobi Nwigwe discussed his role in the upcoming film “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.”

Nwigwe revealed he had no acting experience prior to landing his gig on the big screen. He says he was overjoyed to be a part of such a big franchise like “Transformers.”

“I thought it was a lie when I first got the email,” he told the outlet. “I thought somebody was trying to prank me. Once I found out it was real, I was extremely excited.”

Nwigwe also revealed that after his role was confirmed he was told he would have to film for one month in Montreal. The rapper explained to Paramount that he would not be able to do that because there is no way he could be away from his family for a long period of time.

Nwigwe was convinced Paramount was going to give his role to someone else, but instead they flew his entire family out so they can accompany him in Montreal.

“I was able to spend all that quality time with my family. I don’t like to miss out on the opportunity to like spend time with my family,” he said. “All of this is extremely exciting but you know what I’m saying seeing my kids grow up in every aspect of that is very important to me.”
