Sofía Vergara and Joe Manganiello are calling it quits.

The couple, who have been married for seven years, made the shocking announcement this Monday afternoon (July 17).

“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they said in a joint statement to Page Six. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives.”

News of the split comes a week after the “Modern Family” alum was spotted in Italy celebrating her 51st birthday with friends. Although no one was aware the couple was heading towards divorce, fans noticed Manganiello’s birthday post to Vergara was rather odd and started to speculate something was wrong.

The “Magic Mike” star shared a photo of him and his wife on Monday (July 10) with the caption, “¡¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!”

“Am I the only one who doesn’t like the way it sounds? “ Sofia”.... not even “ My love, My beloved wife,” one fan wrote.

“Something is off,” another commented. “Cold message for her and has two stories about his dog’s birthday. And sofia has not even said thank you.”

Although Vergara and Manganiello have yet to announce the reason for their split, a source told Page Six it has something to do with them going in different directions in life.

“Sofía and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future.”

The former couple first met back in 2014 and got engaged after only six months of dating. “Our first date was in June, and then I proposed to her on Christmas Eve,” Manganiello said during an 2015 interview with Haute Living. “When you know, you know, and we knew right away—like, very quickly.”

In November 2015, the two made it official and walked down the aisle at The Breakers in Palm Beach.

Vergara — who has a 31-year-old son named Manolo with first husband Joe Gonzalez — doesn’t share any kids with Manganiello.
