Interview: Cauty Talks New Single ‘La Pena’ Featuring Lenny Tavárez

Puerto Rican artist Cauty is giving fans an all-new summer hit with the release of his highly anticipated single titled “La Pena,” a captivating collaboration featuring the incredibly talented Lenny Tavárez.

"La Pena" showcases his signature style, incorporating an infectious beat, evocative lyrics, and a seamless fusion of urban rhythms.

During an interview with the outlet, Cauty revealed Tavárez hopped on his record after he reached out to him to get his honest opinion about the song.

“Siempre hemos intercambiado ideas y cuando enseñé esta tema para que me dieras su opinión le gustó mucho y me dijo que el quería estar en el tema tambien,” Cauty said. “Y hicimos como funcionara.”

Although, “La Pena” will ignite you to dance, there is also a deeper meaning behind the catchy tune.

“We are talking directly to, that is, like women who are in a relationship what is said to be a toxic relationship that is taking away the light that does not let them do what they want,” Cauty said. “And to those who are not happy, it’s a direct message to ask if it is worth being in that cycle.”

The Latin rapper also mentioned that even though the song doesn’t necessarily reflect an experience in his life, the song is very relatable to many people who have dealt with a similar situation or know someone who has.

With both artists boasting a strong track record of hit singles and collaborations, “La Pena” is poised to make waves both in Latin music charts and across international platforms, solidifying Cauty's and Tavárez's positions as influential forces in shaping the contemporary soundscape.

In addition to discussing his new single, Cauty also spoke about growing up in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico and how the island will always hold a special place in his heart.

“La gente de San Lorenzo es gente buena y de verdad no cambiaría nada de mi infancia donde crecí y de los amigos que hice en ese pueblo,” he shared. “Y hoy por hoy mi familia sigue viviendo allí. Cada vez que yo sabe cuando estoy en Puerto Rico yo ahí es que me muevo siempre.”
